Meet Our Team
Dr. Paula Strauss, PsyD
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Habit Reversal Training, and Social Skills facilitation. My approach is both supportive and practical—offering a safe space for healing while also providing concrete tools for change. I believe therapy helps clients reconnect with their own inner wisdom and learning to tune into their sense of knowing.
I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, CSPP-Los Angeles (APA-accredited). My pre-doctoral training included work at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Los Angeles Job Corps, and the Southern California Counseling Center. I completed post-doctoral training at The Village Family Services in North Hollywood and Rich & Associates in Westwood. I’ve also served in supervisory and training roles at New Beginnings Counseling Center in Santa Barbara and on the board of the Santa Barbara County Psychological Association.
Outside of work, I’m a mom to a teen boy and pre-teen girl, and a Bernedoodle named Reese, who sometimes joins me at the office. I enjoy hiking Santa Barbara’s trails, yoga, podcasts, and practicing meditation with patience and humor.

Amanda Munoz, Registered Assoc. MFT
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and am passionate about supporting children, preteens, teens, young adults and families through life’s challenges. My goal is to help youth identify and express their emotions, build confidence, and develop a strong, positive sense of self while providing tools for meaningful change.
I create a warm, safe, and compassionate space where children and teens feel understood, supported, and empowered, while also helping parents feel more confident and connected to their child. Whether navigating anxiety, depression, behavioral changes, or life transitions, I meet each client where they are and support them in reaching their goals.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual’s unique strengths and needs. I integrate play-based and creative interventions with evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Through play and connection, I help children process their experiences, build emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and strengthen resilience in a way that feels natural and engaging.
